Dear Family and Friends,

We had a wonderful time with friends in South Africa and at our annual missionary retreat in Zimbabwe despite vehicle problems. Damaging our vehicle because of rocks in the road, several long bus trips for parts, delays and other problems helped us to learn patience. We learned how some Zimbabweans have managed to survive with the worst inflation in the world and political uncertainty.

At retreat we had practical messages by Rev. Glenn Pfeiffer of LifePoint Church on God's master plan based on His dealings with Abraham, Moses and Joseph: vision given/leader called; promise tested; promised fulfilled; leader's character tested; leader empowered; problems abound; leader perseveres.

We thank God for helping us to quickly resettle at home and to see the Lord's work among the Yao continuing well.

A former sheik retelling the story of the Last Supper and the Lord's promises of preparing a place for us and sending the "Comforter" who would be in us (obviously the Holy Spirit, not Muhammad as our "cousins" believe).

Praise God with us for…

  1. Helping Doug and D to train another ministry team in teaching chronologically.
  2. Enabling Malawi BICC leadership to resolve some major conflicts.
  3. Providing for three BICC leaders to attend the June London training.
  4. Providing all of Susanna's support for her July London trip.

Pray with us for…

  1. Resumption of work in our three most remote villages.
  2. Restored health for Doug's mom, currently in rehab, after changes in medications.
  3. Comfort for the Ben Skaggs family in the home going of Gerlinde (3/16).
  4. Healing for friends' two month old daughter Eva who suffered cardio-pulmonary arrest.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Love,
Doug, Barb, Seth, Steven, Sara, Susanna and Sharon

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. (1 Cor 13:4-8a)

Enjoying the generosity and hospitality of our friends the Boshoffs near Pretoria, South Africa.
