Miller's Messenger - March 2008

Dear Family and Friends,

We thank God for the tremendous opportunity for increased prayer support for God's work among the Yao on "World Prayer Day," Sunday, March 9! Jesus' primary prayer focus sprang from His compassion for people, seeing them as "harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." (See Mt 9:36-38) He challenged His followers: "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."

We praise the Lord for BICWM's team of two families (Millers and Lloyds), BIC Church's national missionary Bosco Phiri and our other expatriate and local colleagues, but we are few compared to the need. Just as Jesus shared His burden in the context of the "harvest", we would like to encourage you, as you pray for workers, to let us know of your interest in taking a "Vision Trip" to Malawi to catch Christ's vision to pray for, support and participate in the Lord's work among the Yao.

New believer D holds a traditional MP3 player which she'll use to share the Gospel with others.

Please also praise God with us for…

  1. Increased numbers of seekers to the point of starting a third group in Village 3.
  2. Some who are catching a vision for sharing the Gospel with others using MP3 players.
  3. Beneficial Neighborhood Watch security guard training by police.
  4. Successful Global Interaction missionary retreat children's program by our children.
  5. News of soon-to-be-released crankable/rechargeable "Sabre" MP3 player.

Please also pray with us for…

  1. God's comfort to Barb's family in the home-going of her Aunt Lena Kennel (2/12) at 96.
  2. Healing for Doug's mom who was hospitalized for tests after having collapsed at home (2/25).
  3. Support for Susanna's participation in London evangelism training (7/17-8/2).
  4. Empowerment for Jonathan M'bwana who will be consecrated as new BICC bishop (3/15).
  5. Safety for our family trip to South Africa and to the annual regional retreat in Zimbabwe.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

Love,
Doug, Barb, Seth, Steven, Sara, Susanna and Sharon
